Drawing on her experience practicing law, advising law firms, and coaching attorneys and law firm professionals, Naomi combines her first-hand perspective on the unique opportunities and challenges of the law firm environment with an instinct for tapping into each client’s strengths and needs to overcome obstacles and achieve ambitious goals.

Through individualized, one-on-one coaching, Naomi supports attorneys and legal industry professionals in all aspects of professional and personal growth, with particular emphasis on:

Naomi collaborates with law firm leadership teams to design firm-wide talent initiatives that support retention, engagement, and success. To that end, she develops both stand-alone training programs and broad, organization-wide initiatives for attorneys and staff, including:

  • training workshops to advance skill-building in discrete areas
  • leadership and management training

She has particular expertise in the design, implementation, and analysis of large-scale, multi-office law firm upward and 360° reviews — as well as in the development of programs that transform the feedback derived from these reviews into action-oriented talent development initiatives.

Background & Education

Before founding NB&A, Naomi practiced law for nearly 10 years with the firms Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy LLP (Los Angeles; Washington, D.C.) and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP (Washington, D.C.). She graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law, Order of the Coif, in 1997. She earned her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, magna cum laude.

Naomi is a formally credentialed executive coach and longtime member of the International Coaching Federation (ICF). She is credentialed by the ICF as a Professional Certified Coach and by MentorCoach® as a Certified Mentor Coach. She is certified to administer and interpret a variety of standardized leadership assessments — including Myers-Briggs, Everything DiSC®, and Hogan assessments. Naomi is a frequent presenter at law firm and professional association events, and her writing has appeared in the New York Law Journal and in a variety of online and print publications, including the ABA Journal online, the National Association for Law Placement, and the 2021 book Accelerating Trends in Law Firms,published by Globe Law and Business.

She is a member of the California, Virginia, and Washington, D.C., bars, as well as of the American Bar Association, the National Association for Law Placement, and the National Association of Women Business Owners. NB&A has achieved formal designation by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council as a Women’s Business Enterprise.

Naomi lives in Lincoln, Nebraska with her husband, children, and menagerie of pets.
