Brian Russell is a senior business executive with over 35 years of experience leading and influencing across all levels of an organization’s employee and operational related processes that are the basis for the success of those organizations. He is a human resources consultant through his firm, Stonehill HR LLC, and focuses on transforming leadership teams and HR teams, assessing and facilitating culture buy-in, coaching, providing interim HR leadership at plant and corporate levels and improving talent/employee related processes for his clients.
Brian’s experiences as a senior human resources leader are built on a range of experiences, from approachability and an ability to read situations and organizations as a coach and shop- floor- through- board -room -savvy employee relations and labor relations facilitator, to contributing to making buy/no buy M&A due diligence process decisions. Brian has been responsible for the ultimate success of acquisitions and integrations from a culture, organization and HR and business leadership and process view.
Most recently, as Senior Vice president of Human Resources, Brian led the human resource and health and safety initiatives to build then publicly traded life sciences firm AMRI (drug research and manufacture) into a $1BB success. This was accomplished by both organic growth and the acquisition and integration of twelve companies into AMRI.
Brian has held senior HR positions of increasing responsibility with GE, Nestle’, Snap-on, Sysco and Saputo (Stella Foods), where his strengths in organizational effectiveness, influence skills, ability to lead change, talent assessment and acquisition, employee and leadership development and total rewards/compensation helped to transform or grow those organizations. Creating a culture of improving productivity through open dialogue, mutual understanding of individual and business goals & processes and the desire to improve those processes are key cornerstones that Brian believes HR team and the entirety of business leadership team are responsible for to increase profits, foster engaged employees and realize happy customers.
Brian holds a BS in Management from Providence College and a Masters Degree in Industrial Relations from St Francis University in Loretto, PA. Brian is active in Habitat for Humanity and serves as a Director on its Board of Directors in his region. Brian resides in the Saratoga Springs area of upstate New York.
